FILMMAKERS
Francis dela Torre studied film production at the renowned University of Southern California’s School of Cinema/Television from 1996 to 1998. While there, he was one of two students specially selected by a committee of entertainment industry professionals to direct a master’s thesis for his graduating class. Throughout the past decade, dela Torre has directed and photographed numerous television commercials and music videos in the United States, many of which have won awards, including an MTV Best Music Video Award in 2002.
In 2010, dela Torre founded TECTONIC FILMS, a U.S. and Philippines based independent production company. Their first feature co-production, SUBJECT: I LOVE YOU has recently been completed and will make its World Premiere at the Newport Beach Film Festival, 2011.
SUBJECT: I LOVE YOU is also Dela Torre’s directorial feature debut. Currently, he is developing a slate of feature films that are being packaged by William Morris Endeavor and co-produced by Dean Devlin of Electric Entertainment, whose credits include INDEPENDENCE DAY, GODZILLA and THE PATRIOT.
